Credit Car Loan Help
If you are looking to buy a new car, used car or
even trade in your used car, it's particularly important to know
certain things about the car dealerships on your radar. The used
car market can have its share of risks - though there are clear
things you can do to minimize the inherent risks involved, and
one of the very best things is to deal only with reputable used
car dealerships. There are so many used car dealers - some large
with their own service departments, others relatively small that
are basically tiny car lots.
Many people are under the impression that the size of the car
lot or dealership dictates how reliable a car dealer is. It does
not. Although large dealerships with service departments might
offer you a variety of different car warranties available to purchase,
this fact alone shouldn't make you feel more secure. You can just
as easily buy a lemon at a large car dealership with its own service
department as you can at a small used car lot.
So how do you know that you're dealing with a reputable car dealership?
First, do your research before you actually make it to the lot.
Use the internet, which is one of the best tools you have. Online,
you'll find scores and scores of review websites. All you have
to do is do a search using your city's name and the keywords "used
car dealer reviews", and you'll be on your way to reading
reviews on local dealers in your area. You'll find the good, the
bad, and the very ugly in no time.
As well, if you already have a specific car dealer in mind, just
do a specific search with that car dealer's name in the keywords.
So, if you're in Los Angeles and you want a specific review about
Ma and Pa's Autos, just type in "Ma and Pa's Autos Los Angeles"
in a search engine, and you should pull up specific results quickly.
Aside from harnessing the power of the internet for review, you
can also use the internet to consult the Better Business Bureau's
website. As a mediating agency, the BBB records any complaints
about businesses, no matter how big or small. In order to remain
a member in the Better Business Bureau's directory, members need
to have met certain standards. In other words, if your local business
isn't in the Better Business Bureau's directory, it might be best
to steer clear.
Finally, don't discount the value of word of mouth recommendations
from family, friends and colleagues about reputable car dealers.
If someone you know has had a wonderful experience dealing (pun
intended) with a car dealer, it's likely that you will too.
If you use a combination of all research methods listed above
- searching for car dealer reviews, consulting the Better Business
Bureau's website, and asking your friends, family and colleagues
- you'll quickly be able to target those local car dealers in
your area whose reputation, hopefully good, precedes them.
