1. The first thing you should do when thinking about
buying a BHPH car is to call the dealer. Ask the dealer general
questions about his/her dealership. In others words, let the dealer
know you're an educated car buyer.
2. The second thing you should do is to call multiple BHPH
car dealers in your area. The reason why we recommend this
step is because as a consumer you deserve to "dealer shop".
When you call these dealers, ask them general questions,
like what we suggested in step 1. There are a lot of BHPH dealers
in the United States (and that number is growing daily). A lot
of these dealerships compete for BHPH customers and it's up to
the consumer (You) to get the best deal possible.
3. The third thing you should do is to visit the dealership(s)
you called. This step is crucial in the BHPH buying process. We
suggest you browse the inventory. Ask questions about the vehicles
they have in stock and what's the down payment needed. Also, please
understand while visiting the dealer don't feel obligated to purchase
a vehicle as soon as you walk in.
4. The fourth thing we recommend you do is to visit multiple BHPH
dealers in your area. This is similar to step two but the main
difference is you're "feeling out" the dealership in
person instead over the phone. When you're visiting these dealers
pay attention to detail.
What's detail? Detail is simple.
Pay attention to the way the cars are being displayed
on the car lot.
Pay attention to the staff in the lobby.
Pay attention to the employees at the dealership.
Look at the other consumers. Do they look happy?
Is the dealership clean?
Are they helpful?
Are they friendly?
Are they professional looking?
In other words, make sure the dealer you're doing
business with is a legitimate dealer and honest business not a
"fly by night" operator.
5. The fifth thing we recommend you do is to ask the dealer what's
the typical down
payment at the car dealership? We've covered this topic in
other articles on this site but I'm going to go a little further
with this. The answer to this question is never black or white.
The answer to this question is this, "it depends". It
depends on you, the consumer. Why does it depend on the consumer?
Well it depends on you because if you show the dealer that positive
history of payment (meaning if you pay the dealer on time and
are never late with your payments) you are going to have to put
less of a down payment down on your next vehicle or in some rare
circumstances you wouldn't have to put zero money down. Please
understand the 0 down payment is for customers that have been
with the dealer for multiple years and show a rock solid payment
history with the dealer.
6. The sixth thing we recommend you do is to select a car dealer
you want to do business with. This process is very straightforward
and easy. It's a simple question.
Which dealership treated fairly?
Which dealership treated you with the most respect?
Which dealership treated you like a person and not
just a number?
Which dealership answered all of your questions
honestly?
Whoever that dealer is, go back to that dealership
and purchase your next BHPH car from them.
